Pope John Paul II





Karol Jozef Wojtyla which is known as the empathic Pope John Paul II. He was born in Wadowice Poland. He finished and achieved his education. Furthermore, when he was 9 years old his mother Emila died. After a while, when he turned 12 years old, his brother Edmond died. More over, when the Nazis attacked Poland, Kard was forced to work in a stone cutter quarry which is a job for strong and muscular men. On February 18th 1941, his father Karol Senior died. Which then Pope moved in with his relatives in Poland. After a while, he became a "bishop" then afterwards, when he was 46 years old, he because an "Arch Bishop."



On October 16 1978, he was elected as the 264th pope, the 263rd successor of Peter. He took the name "Pope John Paul II". Furthermore, the white smoke that came out of the Vatican Square’s chimney was at approximately at 5:15 pm, he was 58 years old when he got elected as pope. We as partners think it is really interesting how to elect a pope.



On May 13 1981, at 5:19 am, our pope got shot in the abdomen and hand while he circled St. Peter’s Square. A young fellow named Turk Mehmet Ali Agca. Pope John Paul II was immediately rushed to the Gemelli Hospital, while Turk was being arrested by the police. In addition, the Pope was operated for 6 hours, and was hospitalized for 22 days. On May 17th, just after his rest from his surgery, he recited the "Angelus": "Pray for the brother who shot me, whom I sincerely forgiven." Lately, he got a lot of injuries from different problems. A basic concept of this issue is that Pope was strong and did not give up.



We are really impressed hearing even though Pope the II had many problems with his body he still traveled over 1 million kilometers outside of Italy. Moreover on the year 2003, he had made 102 foreign trips and traveled to over 129 countries. He has been to approximately 580 cities in our planet. By the way, he made over 3000 speeches while touring our tremendous world. Conversely, he kissed every countries/cities ground at his arrival. He showed a lot of respect and pride to the country that he had entered. When he arrived at Manila, Philippines on 1995 nearly 3 million people welcomed him. It was the largest public crowd for one special person like him. Well as, he spent nearly 500 days traveling. This is one significant thing that we will always remember about our pope. Cardinals/Saints: Conversely, before he was given up to death, up to 2005, he elected up to 201 new cardinals. He recorded 37 cardinals on January 21 2001. Also, Pope made more Saint than any of his predecessors over the past 500 years combined.



The saddest part of his life is his sicknesses and the funeral. On February 1st 2005, he was immediately rushed to the hospital because he suffered from the flu and was having difficulty breathing. He was released from the hospital within 9 days of pain. People were so shocked when they heard that. That’s when people started to pray for him. It was very sad and overwhelming for us to think about the pain that he went through. On May 31st 2005, Italian newscaster announced that his sickness is getting worst. Then after a while, he stayed in the hospital for a very long time. The most shocking moment was on April 2nd 2005 at 9:37 pm [Rome time]. The time he passed away in peace. Everyone was so upset and showing empathy like how much he became very forgiving to others. Consequently, he is one of the most important in our lives. We will never forget about him.
